“Graphics of Hermann Struck”

On January 31, 2019 at 17.00 “Graphics of Hermann Struck” exhibition will open in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition will feature graphic works of the famous German artist Hermann Struck (1876-1944) from the private collection of Uladzimir Bagdanau (Minsk).

The exposition is based on 50 works Struck created in Belarus, Lithuania and Latvia during the First World War, when he served in the German army on the Eastern Front.

The outstanding master of German engraving, Hermann Struck, was born in 1876 in Berlin into an Orthodox Jewish family. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Berlin, and soon became known as a master of lithography and etching, entered the Berlin artistic elite, was member of art association “Berlin Secession”. He traveled a lot, visited Denmark, Palestine, Switzerland, Sweden, UK and USA. In his travels he made many sketches...
