Notebooks of Tatsiana Malyshava. Glass and graphic works
The exhibition will feature ten glass decorative compositions created by the author in the 1970s–2010s, as well as ten original graphic works of the 1970s–1980s.
The name of Tatsiana Malyshava is well known among the connoisseurs and amateurs of Belarusian decorative and applied arts. At the famous “Nioman” Glass Factory she was the first representative of the Minsk School of Art Glass, who received a special education at the Department of Glass and Ceramics of the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (now the Belarusian State Academy of Arts). In 1972, the talented graduate started working as an artist at the Experimental Art Department, where she was lucky to work under the guidance of the unrivaled master of his craft, the legendary Uladzimir Murakhver.
Tatsiana Malyshava belongs to the generation of Belarusian artists who on the one hand continued the development of the figurative and decorative principles of the art glass started by their teachers, and at the same time managed to introduce a new understanding in the creation of works of art glass connected with associative imagery. Expressiveness and originality of her works are achieved through the use of such means as metaphor, symbol and sign. The creative interests of the artist include the search for harmony and balance between history and modernity, her own vision of the moral and intellectual problems of time, the embodiment of the world of associations, the discovery of such phenomena of physics as momentum, movement, the reflection of the semantic content of the word in the glass, which is often reflected in the titles of her works.
