Рhoto report. The opening of the exhibition “Touch of Britain: 18th–19th centuries of British Art”

A press conference on the opening of the exhibition “Touch of Britain: 18th–19th centuries of British Art” from the collection of the UK Government Art Collection, the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus and the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus was held on May 14, 2015.

The press conference was attended by Vladimir Prokoptsov, Director General of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus; Mr. Bruce Bucknell, Her Majesty’s Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Belarus; Oleg Ryzhkov, Director of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus; Ms. Nicole Mendes Simoes da Silva, Representative of the UK Government Art Collection; Svetlana Prokopeva, Curator of the exhibition, leading researcher of the Department of Russian and Foreign art, keeper of the collection of Western art at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

The speech at the opening ceremony was given by Vladimir Prokoptsov, Director General of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, Boris Svetlov, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and Mr. Bruce Bucknell, Her Majesty’s Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Belarus.

The opening ceremony was accompanied by a string quartet of the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
