On the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. A series of commemorative postcards

Glory not one of us cried of you,

Motherland.

Simply for each to decide:

I or the

Motherland.

“Requiem”, 1962

Robert Rozhdestvensky (1932–1994)

(translated by Walter May)

The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus jointly with the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus and the “Belpochta” published a series of commemorative postcards on the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

For this project realization were used reproductions by following authors: Sophia Lee (1904–1980) “Victory Square” (1979, oil on canvas), Valentin Savitsky (1919–2006) “Sacred Stones” (1975, oil on canvas), Boris Arakcheev (1926–2013) “The Kholm Gates. Brest Fortress” (1961, oil on canvas), Valentin Volkov (1881–1964) “Minsk. July 3, 1944. A soldier and a girl. Study to the painting” (1951, paper on cardboard, charcoal), Leonid Boyko (1912 – ?) “At the light” (1949, charcoal on paper), David Genin (1912–1971) “At a Partisan Detachment” (1943, charcoal on paper, Italian pencil), Sergei Romanov (1914–2001) “Partisans on a halt” (1943, lead pencil on paper).

The cards’ publication dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory is a way to express a sincere gratitude to the people, which sacrificing their own lives defended the most important things – the life and the freedom.

The cards are already available in the Museum shop (the cost of each item – 7 500 BYR).
