Exhibiting of the exhibition “Touch of Britain: 18th–19th centuries of British Art”
The exhibition “Touch of Britain: 18th–19th centuries of British Art”, organized by the National Art museum of the Republic of Belarus and the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Belarus jointly with the United Kingdom Government Art Collection and the National Historical museum of the Republic of Belarus, will be held from May 15 to July 13, 2015.
The exhibition will feature more than 30 works by British masters of the 18th–19th centuries – the time of the English national art school formation and its greatest popularity.
The exhibition carries on the tradition of acquaintance the Belarusian audience with classic and contemporary art of the island state: the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus hosted “Pictures of Pre-Raphaelites” (1996), “Peter Blake. The alphabet” (1997), organized by The British Council, and one of the grandiose projects of the decade – “Royal Treasures: European Masterpieces 1600-1800” from the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (2012).
The realization of this exhibition project became possible by the organizational activity and financial support of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Belarus.
