Celebration of Victory Day at the Museum
The Museum offers to visit halls of the Belarusian Art the 1940–1980-s after re-exposition “War and Victory in the works of the Belarusian artists of the 20th century” dedicated to the Year of Victory and the Year of Youth.
The exhibition presents more than 60 works of painting, graphics and sculpture dedicated to the Great Patriotic War by artists – war veterans and post-war generation: “Portrait of Nikolay Gastello” by Andrey Bembel (1905–1986), “The defense of the Brest Fortress” by Ivan Akhremchik (1903–1971), “Minsk. July 3, 1944” by Valentin Volkov (1881–1964), “The Partisan Madonna” by Mikhail Savitsky (1922–2010), “Over Pripyat” by Viktor Gromyko (1923), “Thirst” by Arlen Kashkurevich (1929–2013), “Still life with tulips” by Leonid Schemelev (1923) and others. The pride of the collection of the Belarusian art are the works created during the Great Patriotic War.
The exhibition “War and Victory in the works of the Belarusian artists of the 20th century” will last throughout the year.
