The exhibition of one work was solemnly opened
On 9 September at 4 pm the exhibition of one work from the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus “As if in Dream” by Leonid Schemelyov (1995, oil on canvas) was solemnly opened and the envelope and the stamp with the work image were cancelled in the white hall of the new museum building. The event was dedicated to the holiday of the city of Minsk under the museum programme “September Night in the Art Museum”.
The opening ceremony had a background music of the string quartet “ANIMA”.
Director general of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Prokoptsov delivered an opening speech.
Director general of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Belpochta” Iryna Saxonova shared the main trends of the projects of the Ministry for Communication and Information together with “Belpochta” to promote the Belarusian culture and art in 2012 and thanked people’s artist of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Schemelyov.
Leonid Schemelyov’s student and artist Viktor Tikhonov; honoured worker of art of Belarus, professor, chairman of the public association “Belarusian Union of Artists” Uladzimir Savich; famous expert in art and honoured worker of art of Belarus Borys Krepak and expressed their congratulations and respect for the activity and oeuvre of Leonid Schemelyov.
At the end of the opening ceremony of one work the envelope and the stamp with the autograph of author Leonid Schemelyov were cancelled and transferred to the museum of “Belpochta”, the archive of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus and the very artist.
People’s artist of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Schemelyov delivered his own speech.
The artist’s relatives, his colleagues, the museum employees and numerous visitors attended the exhibition opening.
