PRINCELY TREASURES: EUROPEAN MASTERPIECES 1600-1800 from the Victoria and Albert Museum (London)
The exhibition «Princely Treasures: European Masterpieces 1600–1800», organized by the Victoria
and Albert Museum, London (www.vam.ac.uk) with the participation of the
Ministry of Culture of the
Republic of Belarus and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of
Belarus in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, will be held at
the National Art Museum
of the Republic of
Belarus from August
16 to November
4, 2012. The exhibition will be presented simultaneously in two museums
at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus in
Minsk and the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve «Nesvizh» in
Nesvizh.
The exhibition «Princely Treasures: European Masterpieces 1600–1800» presents a series of themes encapsulating important aspects of courtly life in Europe: Princely patronage, Power and Glory, Religious Splendour, Display in the Interior, Fashion and Personal Adornment.
The visitors of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus will have the unique opportunity to see over 40 masterpieces selected from the magnificent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum for nearly three months.
In case of presenting the data on the exhibition in the Internet the hyperlink to the official website of the V&A (www.vam.ac.uk) is required. Under the exhibition agreement all the publications on the exhibition project in the print media have to be submitted to the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus for their further transfer to the V&A.
