Marc Chagall: Life and Love
The Exhibition «Marc Chagall: Life and Love» from the collection of the Museum of Israel (Jerusalem) will take place in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus from the 1st of November 2012 till the 28th January 2013. The Exhibition is organized by the Museum of Israel upon an initiative of and with financial support from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, with support of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the State of Israel and the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Republic of Belarus.
The Exhibition will become a dramatic event, finalizing 125-anniversary year of the birth of the world-known painter, our fellow-countryman Marc Chagall (1887–1985).
The Exhibition «Marc Chagall: Life and Love» carries on a tradition of exposure to the creativity of the prominent master in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
The Exhibition of Marc Chagall’s works will become the presentation of the Museum of Israel in the Republic of Belarus. 89 artworks, original graphic works and prints from the grand collection of the Museum of Israel shall be presented at the exposition. The items of the Exhibition refer to different periods (since 1910s till 1961) and depict Chagall’s creativity in its variety – landscape paintings, portraits, genre compositions, illustrations to literary works and the Bible.
