The exhibition of Chinese artist Xiao Yu “Eastern Charm” in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus is timed to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition presents 26 best works by the master. They were created in the traditional “guo hua” technique of painting in gouache and mineral paints.
Landscape (shan shui) and genre “flowers-birds” (huaniao) are most stable and invariably called-for among the diversity of painting styles, ways and genres describing artistic life of modern China. It is them that reveal love of Chinese people for nature, their world-view peculiarities. The genres “shan shui” and “huaniao” are most delicate manifestations of medieval pantheism related to worshipping and poeticizing nature and are based upon stable centuries-old traditions.
The exhibition “Eastern Charm” will be open from March, 21 till March, 27, 2012. more
