“Iosif Langbard (1882–1951). Architect and Artist”
From April 12 to
May 14, 2012 at the National Art Museum of Belarus hosts
an exhibition “Iosif Langbard (1882–1951). Architect and Artist”. Honored art worker and Ph.D. in
architecture Iosif Langbard plays a special role among eminent architects of
our country. An outstanding talent, a large scale of ideas, an original view on
town planning helped to develop unique architectural designs and to find
unexpected solutions leading to significant results in city-formation.
This exhibition is dedicated to the 130th birthday of Iosif Langbard and presents materials from the funds of the Belarusian state archive of scientific and technical documents, the Committee for architecture and urban planning of Minsk City Executive Committee, the State museum of history of Saint Petersburg etc. For the first time in Belarus it presents Iosif Langbard not only as an outstanding architect but also as an artist.
