Art of Sovereign Belarus

The sovereignty which the Republic of Belarus managed to get in 1991 marked absolutely new step in the development of national art culture. The years of independency brought significant changes into society and culture and launched the process of rapid renewal, the realization of intellectual and creative potential in art and culture.
The present exhibition, Art of Sovereign Belarus, is aimed to demonstrate the peculiarities of national art development in the above mentioned period, taking into account its correlation to traditions and modernity, art tendencies succession and experimental searches.
The exhibition gives the unique opportunity to get acquainted with the works of artists belonging to different generations and demonstrating different art inclinations and preferences, tending to classics or experiment, addressing to general human values and searching for the national idea in Belarusian painting. It represents the new artworks of Belarusian classics, i.e. M. Savitsky, G. Vaschenko, V. Gromyko, P. Maslenikov, A. Kischenko, M. Dantsig, V. Stelmashonok, together with the works of presidential scholarship holders (the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Talented School and University Students): O. Melnik-Malakhova, R. Sustova.
