‘The Best of the Best...’ 6+

If you want to find out the most unexpected and curious details about works of art, so ‘The Best of the Best’ tour will be an excellent option to spend time nice and profitably.
You will see the most important objects of different ages and cultures on display in the permanent exhibition. Find out which item is the smallest in the collection, and view the largest canvas. Find out how the most fashionable exhibit was used 250 years ago, and what the most fantastic one is.

  • ‘How the Museum Works’ 6+

Interactive excursion for children from 6 to 10 years

What a museum is, and how it works, who works in it, and who museum conservators, ‘museum doctors’, curators and installers are, how objects get into the ‘House of the Muses’ and what happens to them. Children will learn about all above from the tour. They will also have to learn five ‘Guest Rules’, solve ‘The Mystery of White Gloves’ and playing ‘come to life’ the ‘House of the Muses’.

  • ‘Little Expert’ 6+

Why did the artist create the piece? What is going on in the picture? Why are any characters portrayed brighter than other ones? Museum experts face these and many other questions every day.
During the excursion participants will become the most ‘real experts’ in the fine arts. They will be able to distinguish between a portrait and a landscape, and be sure of the variety of forms and genres.
Young researchers will learn to notice important details in paintings with the help of which they will be able to reveal the secrets of the works of art. Finally, children will be tested while playing.

  • ‘What Color is Winter?’ 6-12 years

Winter time is a thousand of colorful fragments such as a crisp snow, smell of a Christmas tree, fun of New Year holidays, waiting for a miracle.
The interactive excursion presents the New Year’s palette, colors and scents of winter in the canvases. They will experience the atmosphere of magic and fairy tale. Children will enrich their knowledge on the history and traditions of the New Year and Christmas.

  • ‘What Grapes and Peonies are Whispering about, or the Secrets of a ‘Quiet Life’ 8-11 years

Why do artists often paint apples and lemons? How do ruddy peaches or smoky grapes smell in the painting by Ivan Khrutski? Why does a nice tulip lose its leaves? Why did Ilya Mashkov fill the picture with tubby and large pumpkins? How to look at paintings to gain an insight into?
The interactive excursion will expand children’s knowledge of still life.

  • The Real World and an Artistic Image. The Fine Arts Genres 8+

For the third and eighth-grade students

‘Myths of Ancient Greece and Rome’ tells about the mythological genre in the paintings and sculptures by Russian and Western European masters in the museum exposition.
‘Tales of the East’ in works of art by masters from India, China and Japan in the museum exposition.
‘Images of the Bible’ tells about biblical events and characters in the works of the ancient Belarusian art and the art of Russian and Western European masters in the museum exposition.
‘The World of Icon’ is dedicated to the special spiritual and colorful world of the icon in the works of the ancient Belarusian art in the museum exposition.
‘The Art of Portrait’ introduces the history of the development of portrait in the work of Russian artists of the 18th – early 20th centuries in the museum exposition.
‘Wonderful Temple of Nature’ tells about the development of landscape in the works of masters of Russian art of the 18th – early 20th centuries in the museum exposition.
‘Flowers and Fruits’ introduces still life in the works of Russian, Western European and Belarusian artists in the museum exposition.
‘The Charm of Gone Days’ is dedicated to interior in the works of Russian, Belarusian and Western European masters in the museum exposition.
