Opening of the exhibition “Chronicle of Life. Annals of the Country” by Liudvig Asetski (1929–2005), graphic artist and book illustrator

On December 20, 2018 at 5 p.m. exhibition “Chronicle of Life. Annals of the Country” will open at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Artist of the BSSR, Liudvig Asetski (1929–2005), graphic artist and book illustrator, whose creative career started in the 1960s in the Soviet Union and developed until the 21st century in the sovereign Belarus.

The exhibition will feature over 40 works of original and printed graphic works from the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition will be completed with 13 illustrated books by the master from the funds of the library of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art and the artist’s family, as well as photographs, documents and awards from the funds of the Belarusian State Archive Museum of Literature and Art and the family of the master. The demonstrated documentary film by Aliaksandr Damaratski from the series “The Light of a Distant Star” tells about the life and creative path of Liudvig Asetski through the eyes of his family, friends and colleagues.

The exhibition will run from December 21, 2018 to January 27, 2019.
