The socio-cultural project “Minsk with the Eyes of Artists” dedicated to the 950th anniversary of the city of Minsk
On January, 27 the presentation of the social and cultural project “Minsk with the Eyes of Artists” dedicated to the 950th anniversary of the city of Minsk, prepared with the joint efforts of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Commerce, the Minsk City Executive Committee and the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, will be shown at 15.00.
City is its people, their homes, chilly underground, slow buses, loud cars, silent parks, narrow streets and broad avenues. The image of a city is personal for everybody. We will show Minsk with the eyes of the guardians of time – with the eyes of artists. The project in a concise form tells us about the city of Minsk in the 20th century. Familiar, but still not inhabited streets, a newly built city district “Zialyony Luh” (“Green Meadow”), an age-old Niamiha and other wonderful places of our city – we will have a great opportunity of seeing all this on the streets of the capital throughout the year. It is also very important that many of the art works used in the project cannot be seen in the current exhibition of the National Art Museum of Belarus.
The project “Minsk with the Eyes of Artists” is a good example of the cooperation between the city and the museum, which proves that art has no boundaries. Of course, not all the canvases of the city have been included into the project, but many of the most outstanding art works are waiting for a viewer in the exhibition halls. A unique guided tour which shows the art works depicting the corners of Minsk in its different historical periods will be organized for the guests of the presentation.
The project “Minsk with the Eyes of Artists” is designed for the entire 2017 and offers a series of major cultural activities and events dedicated to the anniversary of the city of Minsk.
